Andrew’s Climb
Seven years on the mat, one acceptance letter that started right here.
Where he started — 4th grade, 2019
Andrew walked onto our mat as a 4th grader in a brand-new white belt, and it didn't take long to see how hardworking he was going to be.
What kept him going - Years on the mat
Between leadership roles at school and everything else on his plate, he still made time for the dojo — showing up loyal, honest, and dependable, class after class.
What he built - Black Belt
He earned his black belt, and in whatever spare time he had left, he'd stay to help teach and mentor the newer students.
Where he’s headed - Fall 2026
This fall, that same discipline will carry him through the gates of Harvard.
We don't get to take credit for Harvard — that's all Andrew. But we'd like to think that seven years of showing up, bowing in, and pushing through the hard classes gave him a head start on everything that came after. This is what we train for: not just better athletes, but people who know how to keep going.
Once part of this family, always part of it.
Congratulations, Andrew — we are so proud of you, and we can't wait to hear about everything ahead. Come back and see us over the holidays.
